Latest Edition

In 2023, Condor Camp took place at Wytham Abbey in Oxford, England, from July 24 to 30.
In this edition, we had 17 highly talented university students present,
who were able to engage with content and activities focused on Artificial Intelligence security.
2022

First edition

In 2022, Condor Camp took place at the Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel in Cusco, Peru, from July 27 to August 5.
13 highly talented college students were able to learn analytical, philosophical, organizational and creative content,
exercising their capacity to engage in the search for solutions to the world's most urgent problems.

Speakers

Ali Merali



PhD candidate in Economics at Yale University. He has worked on AI technical security as a Global Priorities Fellow at the Forethought Foundation, Oxford University, and as a facilitator
of the Artificial General Intelligence Safety Fundamentals course.

Angela Aristizábal

Research Scholar at the Future of Humanity Institute, Oxford University. Graduated in Psychology from Universidad de Los Andes, she has worked with institutions such as Innovations for Poverty Action, Generation Pledge, the Colombian Police, and currently builds high social impact projects in Latin America.

Ben Garfinkel



Acting Director of the Centre for the Governance of AI (GovAI) and Research Fellow at the Future of Humanity Institute, Oxford University. He is currently responsible for setting the direction of the organization and supervising the researchers.

Fazl Barez



PhD candidate in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Edinburgh, he is also co-founder of Effective Altruism Edinburgh and founder of the Edinburgh Alignment and
Safety Hub.

Kuhan Jeyapragasan


Director of the Stanford Existential Risks Initiative. M.S. in Computer Science, with a focus on AI, from Stanford University. Currently building Effective Altruism at Stanford University and globally with support from the Center for Effective Altruism.

Linch Zhang

Research Manager at Rethink Priorities, working with longterm research. He has worked with Covid-19 forecasting projects, including superforecasters and Oxford researchers. He has been a programmer at Impossible Foods and Google, and has led several local AE groups.

Ashwin Acharya

Research Fellow at Rethink Priorities, works on AI Governance and Strategy. Previously, he has worked at the Center for Security and Emerging Technology at Georgetown University and the Future of Humanity Institute at Oxford University.

Samuel Marks

Ph.D. candidate in Mathematics at Harvard University and B.A. candidate at Princeton University. Co-organizer of the ACX prediction contest. Works on technical approaches for the development of secure AI.

Jan Brauner

PhD candidate at the Centre for Doctoral Training in Intelligent and Autonomous Systems and Machines at Oxford University, funded by Cancer Research UK and the Future of Humanity Institute. Researching AI safety and its applications to biomedical research.
